Products for Healthy Skin

Hey Glam Fam!

I’m obsessed with finding products for healthy skin. Like, seriously, I might have a problem you guys. It’s probably because I also have sensitive skin.

Picture of three healthy skin products. Raw Sugar Body Wash in Watermelon Mint. Doterra African Black Soap and Balance Bar. Doterra Hydrating Body Mist.

I have eczema and growing up the skin on my legs was prone to cracking and bleeding.

I also had a scar on my left arm for about 10 years from an allergic reaction to body wash that triggered an eczema outbreak. When other girls in middle school were walking down the halls smelling of Bath & Body Works Country Apple and Plumeria body wash, I was relegated to using Lever 2000 because it was the ONLY thing that wouldn’t trigger my eczema. Trust me, there’s nothing that makes you feel more feminine than having to use a product that also sounds like a power tool.

As a result of my sensitive skin journey, I’ve become very diligent about finding products that promote healthy skin. In general, there are three things that I look for in products that I use on my body for healthy skin.

  1. Paraben-Free

  2. Fragrance-Free OR Naturally-Derived Fragrances

  3. Moisturizing

By using this checklist, I’ve been able to improve the look and appearance of my skin. It’s soft and moisturized.

With that in mind, here are three products that I'm currently using in my healthy skin routine.

  • Raw Sugar’s Moisture Loving Body Wash in Watermelon + Fresh Mint:

I started using Raw Sugar’s body washes sometime last year and I absolutely love them. I haven’t had any bad reactions and I really feel that their body wash cleanses the skin without stripping it of its natural oils. That’s because Raw Sugar’s body washes are sulfate-free!

I absolutely LOVE the smell of the Watermelon + Fresh Mint body wash. This is going to sound weird but it’s a mouth-watering fragrance. That’s because Raw Sugar uses ColdPress Technology® to create their amazing product. This process allows them to preserve the luscious nutrients and enzymes of the fruits and plants in their products so you can nourish and revitalize your skin.

BONUS – their products are also vegan and cruelty-free!

  • Doterra’s Hydrating Body Mist:

If you want to increase moisture retention while smoothing and softening your skin, add an oil to your after-shower routine NOW! I started doing this late last year and it has levelled up my healthy skin care routine.

Applying an oil to your skin after bathing allows you to lock in the moisture. This creates a great environment for soft and supple skin. The Hydrating Body Mist adds an extra bonus because it has aromatherapy benefits that can help uplift your mood and ease anxious feelings.

The ingredient list reads like a who’s who of skin care all-stars! This formula contains passion fruit seed oil, coconut oil, sunflower seed oil and avocado oil.

It also has CPTG (certified pure therapeutic grade) essential oils from the number one essential oil company in the world.

  • Doterra’s Onyx Balance Bath Bar:

Doterra African Black Soap and Balance Bar.

What’s funny about this bath bar is that it was originally introduced as a bath bar for men. Due to my experience with Lever 2000, I was more than comfortable with ordering this for myself (take THAT Bath and Body Works).

To be honest, I’ve stayed away from bath bars in the past. However, this African black soap from Doterra has changed my mind. I use it on areas of my skin that need a little extra lovin’ and it has done wonders for my skin. This hand-made soap contains naturally occurring vitamin E, shea nut butter, coconut oil, and palm kernel oil. Unlike other bath bars, this one gets your skin squeaky clean without drying it out.

This bar also contains one of my favorite oil blends, Balance. This oil blend lives up to its name. It helps grounds the emotions while easing tense and anxious feelings. I love using it after a long day.

One note though: Unfortunately, this item is currently sold out. Why did I even mention it then? Because it’s a great product and I’ve requested information about the restocking timeline. I will let you know as soon as I receive an update!

Well, that’s all for now. I truly hope this information helps you in your quest for healthy skin. Feel free to ask me any questions or leave me a comment below.

‘Til next time…

Stay healthy and glamorous,

Eboneé Marie
